Christmas Celebration 2011

Good day folks.

Once again, I made a hiatus. Look how short a day is with only 24 hours yet piles of academic errands interject in. It got me enraged when I barely get a 5 hours slumber in a week. Nonetheless, I'll try to make this site more lively. Here's a long overdue post of my last Christmas celebration. Hope you peeps don't mind bringing back the merriness of Christmas.

All the years, I joyfully savoured my yuletide season in the city, mainly lush restaurants and malls. This year, we had it a different way, the family and I had a road trip to Malacca on the eve and as expected, the traffic treated us shit. We were fazed over it in the beginning but we took that down after.

I consider this as my first experience in Portuguese Settlement for Christmas. Mum told me that I've been here when I was a toddler but that doesn't frame in my memory so it doesn't count. :) . Here are some of the jolly pictures of Christmas-home decorations by the Portuguese.

The colourful lighting and Christmas trees were the main attractions and we were quite taken by how they can come out with such gorgeous Christmas themes with simple decoration pieces. Most of the house owners welcome visitors to step into their house to celebrate this wonderful festivity together. How gracious the Portuguese are.

I didn't get the chance to take more pictures as there's a havoc during that very night. It's unpleasant to have those countdown freaks who love spraying each other and call that a countdown tradition. They even threw the empty spray tins to passer-bys causing arguments and fight on the street. Worst of all, they crazily threw fire crackers into the crowd and almost cause injuries to the people. We fled like nobody else's business. IMHO, it's a shame to have these brain-demented people who think spraying is a must for countdowns. If you don't agree, try imagine having your brand new Mercedes all in white puffy spray. close topic.

Since I'm not around in the heart of Shah Alam, I've no choice but to pass friends' Christmas invitations. Well, the dude and I had a post-christmas celebration. How sweet that we exchanged DIY gifts.

Christmas card and a bottle of wishing stars from the dude.

and I took the liberty to spray this pair of love aluminium plates just for him. pile them on & bounded with a cute ribbon. (made it when I was in a paint company for internship *snickers*)

that's not all, I've got something extra from the dude that sweeten me up like a candy. opps, I over exaggerated it. It's a sweet red rose wrapped in pink. Dude, you really have a romantic bone.

Stepped into the Enchanting Christmas Kingdom in The Curve. How much I wish that I can be a santarina living in the castle in that kingdom having jingle bells all over the places all year long.

Chosen dining restaurant: Vivo American Pizza and Panini

a mugshot. Missing my soft curls.

we flipped the menu number of times cause this is our first time dining in and we didn't know what to order.

Chamomile Tea and Green Tea Latte. The latter tasted exactly the same as Starbucks' Green Tea Frappuccino, just that this one served in hot.

mugshot of the dude. he's the gingerbread and the one on the table is garlic bread. (lame joke)

dinner served!! what a wonderful feast.

♨Chamomile Tea

♨Green Tea Latte

♨Garlic Bread

♨Oriental Baked Rice

♨Chicken &Mushroom Baked Rice

So that's how we roll our Christmas.

May your days be merry and bright.

Love Anne XOXO
